1987 - Inauguration of the San Diego Light Rail System.

In 1987, San Diego celebrated the inauguration of the San Diego Light Rail System, marking a significant milestone in the city's transportation history. The San Diego Trolley, colloquially known as ""The Trolley,"" became the first modern American light rail system integrated with the city's bus system.
